Builder’s Risk/Course of Construction Claims demand immediate attention because work is in progress, and Contracts govern expectations in performance and design. We have experience working with all types of contracted parties and can cater to various interests. We are experienced in working within the confines of the prevailing Contracts and their progress at the Time of Loss. Our multi-disciplined staff of professionals experienced in the construction industry has expertise in prevailing contracts, progress at the time of loss, scheduling, and construction management.
Time is of the essence when it comes to First-Party Property Loss assignments. Damage Assessment and Scope of Repairs, as well as the Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) preparation, are typically covered within the first 24 hours. Depending on the assignment, we are sensitive to Code/Ordinance compliance and consider Business Interruption/Extra Expense aspects during our assessments. To facilitate repairs or prepare bid documents, we undertake designs and provide Clerk of the Works monitoring for both the Restoration and Clean-up phases and during the repair process. From initial Construction Audits through to final negotiations, DBL stays involved.
